Reno is a prominent member of the Turks and generally regarded as the second in command. The Turks are the Administrative Research branch of Shin-Ra. Reno is lanky in physique, with unkempt red hair terminating in a long ponytail. He has two symmetrical red marks on his cheek bones (apparently tattoos, though popularly believed to be scars). He has taken a liking to wearing a pair of goggles on his forehead, as well. His common dress is an unzipped suit jacket and an untucked dress shirt. Reno is cocky, and a combination of playful and cynical. He is highly skilled and takes great pride in his work despite his reputation of being lazy.

Reno is considered in enemy throughout the game, eventually causing the plate explosion which destroyed sector 7. He met AVALANCHE in battle many times, but eventually teamed up with former enemies when Don Corneo kidnapped his fellow Turk, Elena. Consistent with his attitude at the end of Final Fantasy VII, Reno possesses no true hostility towards his former enemies in Advent Children. In fact, the Turks are on the same side as AVALANCHE and join the battle against Loz, Kadaj and Yazoo. Reno is sort of the comic relief.

Reno has quite a lot of personality, and often it can be conflicting. He was a pretty ruthless mercenary in the beginning of the game, as well as an alcoholic. He's come to be more of a joking personality with less hints at the alcoholism and ruthlessness, though those traits are not completely vanished. He's complex, but overall I believe he can be a decent man when he feels the urge.
